Around Porto Pozzo

In the heart of Gallura, Porto Pozzo is an ideal starting point for exploring the far north of Sardinia. After discovering La Piccola Sistina, take the opportunity to explore the landscapes and some of the iconic sites of this part of Gallura.

Porto Pozzo, between land and sea

Porto Pozzo, a small coastal village belonging to Santa Teresa Gallura, developed around a deep natural cove, facing the La Maddalena archipelago. Long focused on agriculture and fishing, the village retains a peaceful atmosphere, nestled between its small port, its lagoon, and the landscapes of Gallura.
Its location, between Santa Teresa Gallura and Palau, makes it an ideal stopover for exploring this part of northern Sardinia.

A land of light and granite

Leaving Porto Pozzo means entering an immediately recognizable landscape: roads lined with maquis shrubland, granite rocks, small coves and viewpoints open to the sea.
Inland, the stazzi, traditional houses of the Gallura countryside, still dot a landscape of pastures and Mediterranean vegetation where myrtle, rosemary, lavender, and helichrysum mingle. On the coast, the wind and sea have sculpted the granite into sometimes spectacular shapes.
Another way to rediscover, this time in the landscape, what accompanies all artistic discovery: matter, color and light.

Towards Santa Teresa Gallura and Capo Testa

Located approximately 12 kilometers from Porto Pozzo, Santa Teresa Gallura overlooks the Strait of Bonifacio. Its center, Rena Bianca beach, and the Longosardo tower open onto a coastline where Corsica appears on the horizon on a clear day.
A little further on, Capo Testa offers one of the most unique landscapes in the region. Wind and sea have sculpted immense granite boulders here, nestled between coves, paths, and Mediterranean vegetation. The Valle della Luna, Cala Spinosa, and the ancient Roman quarries add to the almost mineral character of the place.

Towards Palau and the La Maddalena archipelago

In the other direction, the road leads to Palau, facing the La Maddalena archipelago. The coast alternates between beaches, granite formations and views of the islands, in a landscape deeply marked by the meeting of land and sea.
From Porto Pozzo and the neighbouring ports, excursions also allow you to discover the La Maddalena archipelago, a collection of granite islands, coves and turquoise waters in the heart of a national park.

A stop on the roads of Gallura

Piccola Sistina naturally finds its place in this territory. Not as an isolated destination, but as a different stop in the middle of a journey made up of landscapes, heritage and discoveries.
Taking the time to stop in Porto Pozzo adds an artistic interlude to the discovery of northern Sardinia, before continuing on to the sea, villages and landscapes of Gallura.
